Concern’s Global Writing Competition gives people an opportunity to let us know, in a creative and engaging way, their thoughts on a wide range of development issues.
This year, entrants to the writing competition were asked to imagine this scenario: “The year is 2050 and the population of the world has surpassed 10 billion people. You have been asked to write a 1,000 word chapter for the 2050 State of the Developing World Report.”
The votes are in!
The winners are:
Junior: ages 12 to15
Senior: ages 16 to 18
College: full or part-time student
Age 19 years or over (non-student)

All of the winners will be contacted personally and prizes will be sent out shortly. The following prizes will be awarded in each of the categories:
- First place: netbook computer
- Second place: Kindle e-reader
