Every year, millions of families must leave their home because of violence, natural disasters, their religion or race, heritage, or political ideas.

June 20, 2010 is World Refugee Day. There are 10.5 million refugees worldwide, with more than half in Asia and 22% in Africa (UNHCR, 2009). Refugees are people who have fled their homes, crossing an international border, and cannot return because they fear their lives are in danger.
There are three possible solutions for all displaced people: returning home, local integration, or resettlement.
Returning Home – When circumstances enable displaced people to voluntarily return to their homes, it is important that they are able to return safely and with dignity.
