For many years, GCC has partnered with NYC high schools to start Global Concerns clubs and to help students find creative ways to spread awareness of global issues and to take action. Being part of the GCC Core this year, I thoroughly enjoyed meeting other students from different schools who shared the same interest in helping the world as I do. As co-leader of the Global Concerns club at Trevor Day School, my role consists of leading the club in discussions on pressing issues, running fundraising efforts, and reaching out to students through e-mails and assemblies in an effort to raise global awareness.

In addition to the many activities we were able to do in school, there were several opportunities where we were able to learn outside of the classroom with students from other schools.

Every April, Concern hosts a run in Central Park. This walk is not only to fundraise but also to raise awareness of many issues in undeveloped nations. We had great success in raising money and more awareness in the school community.
