In Sept 2010, world leaders gathered to review the 10-year progress of the MDGs
I was privileged to attend the UN Week Digital Media Lounge from Sept 21-24, 2010. Since the same week world leaders were also gathering at the UN for the 10-year MDG Review Summit, I was grateful for the opportunity for us, common-folks, to be part an event on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

Last week, I attended a United Nations summit in New York, where leaders had gathered from across the globe to discuss progress on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), and agree what must be done if these goals are to be met by 2015. The summit marked the 10th anniversary of the promises made at the start of the century by Heads of State and Government.

Freshmen at Trevor Day School stand against poverty and recite the MDGs as a pledge
2010 is the 10-year mark since 189 world leaders gathered together to decide on the most pressing global issues that needed greater attention and collaboration on in order to reverse the effects and prevalence of poverty worldwide. These became the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), set to be achieved by 2015 with promises made by leaders to commit to development aid and partnership.
